What is Post Concert Depression?

post concert depression

After seeing your favourite singer(s) play live, you might get PCD, post concert depression. Not cause they weren’t what you were expecting, but cause you saw your idol just a few feet in front of you, and you realise you might never see them again. –Urban Dictionary

Well, we are no experts, nor do we know if there are experts on this kinda thing. But, some of us have experienced PCD quite a bit. It’s where you’re in the state of mind that you just want to go back & relive the concert over & again because it was that good. That feeling of sadness because it seemed like the concert only lasted a couple of minutes – it just flew by. The bliss you felt listening to your favorite song & unable to get it out of your head, where you:

  • Leave the concert & re-watch your videos.
  • Click through the photos you took from the show.
  • Replay the show in your mind.
  • Reminisce with your friend(s) [or yourself]

Unable to get the songs out of your head, you continuously listen to the artist, worsening that post concert depression. Then…the next day, week, month, however long, you experience this overwhelming feeling of sadness & longing to be back at that show. The experience you want to hold onto.

This isn’t to say that PCD is any way a real from of clinical depression, but if you know what feeling we’re talking about, you just know…

Our aim is to relieve you from your negative feelings related to all things music, while also being a space to connect, discuss, read, & lift your mood from that place. We hope we can be a brightness in your day.
