Spencer Crandall @ The Grizzly Rose

Yooooo, I have been waiting a hot ass minute to see Spencer Crandall live. I came across him and his music back in 2018 when I first moved to Colorado. Him being a native to my new state but pursuing country music from my previous city (Nashville, duh) really married a beautiful discovery in my music world.

Fast forward to now, I’m working as one of the photographers at The Grizzly Rose & Spencer’s name pops up on the bill. Of course I had to snag this one and get to witness the magic in person. But, let’s back track and shine a little light on the openers (because openers MATTER!!!!!!). Sorry that was aggressive BUT you gotta give em love, ja feel?

Let’s back track and shine a little light on the openers (because openers MATTER!!!!!!)

First up we had Woodland Park, who was the house band that week. Bringing that good ole country flare, what a beautiful start to this glorious evening. Also, you can see below in their photo galleries – a couple of them struck a pose or smile for me which I absolutely love from behind the camera.

Moving along to our next opener, Harper Grace. Before we even get into the music side, I got to meet Harper & what a beautiful soul she is. I can definitely see her fire, love and passion for music. She has the brightest light and you can definitely see the talent God has given her to share with the world. Her up on that stage, what a powerhouse of a voice she has. It was just her and the guitar. Gave me chills, let me tell you. Calling it now: I can see her doing BIG things in the country music world.

Finally, to the MAIN ACT, Spencer Crandall

What an accomplishment and full circle moment for him to headline The Grizzly Rose. Backstage prior to the show, The Grizzly Rose presented him with a belt buckle for selling out the show (a Grizzly Rose tradition!). He made a comment about growing up coming as a patron….and now he’s SOLD IT OUT. I just can’t even imagine what feelings were invoked for a moment so huge. His performance was *chef’s kiss.* The amount of energy (I feel like I say this a lot, but I really do mean it) just amplified the music, vocals, guitar, drums, & more. We also got another surprise during the set, with Harper coming back out and dominating the stage alongside Spencer. They mesh well & I love the support between them as artists.
