The Marías @ Showcenter Complex

On April 3, 2025, The Marías graced the stage at the Showcenter Complex in San Pedro Garza García, Nuevo León, delivering a mesmerizing performance that captivated fans. The evening featured a blend of their signature dreamy pop and sultry rhythms, creating an unforgettable experience for all in attendance.

A Spellbinding Return with A Crowd That Knew Every Word

The Marias have always made you feel like you’re in on a secret, that somehow even in a packed venue, it is just you and the music. Their show at Showcenter Complex in Monterrey felt bigger than a secret. It felt like a celebration. From the moment Maria Zardoya stepped onto the stage, draped in cinematic lightning and dreamy visuals, the energy in the room shifted. The crowd was loud, not in a chaotic way, but in a way that let you know how deeply their fans love them.

Every song, from their early hits such as “Cariño” to the newest tracks like “Run Your Mouth,” was met with cheers, tears, and hundreds of voices singing along. And the band felt it, too. There was a softness in their smiles, a visible gratitude and most notably, Maria Zardoya’s radiant effort to connect with her audience through something more than just music, her words.

Spanish From The Heart

Through the entire set, Zardoya addressed the crowd in Spanish, creating a layer of closeness that wrapped everyone in a warm hug. Whether she was introducing a song, responding to sheers, or simply sharing how grateful she felt, her words came straight from the heart and in the language that almost everyone in the crowd calls home.

Gracias por estar aqui esta noche, significa mucho para nosotros,” she said at one point, with her voice soft but full of emotion. The crowd erupted in response, not just out of excitement but out of appreciation for how present she was. In a world of rehearsed stage banter, this was the complete opposite. It was real.

Live Debut of “Ojos Tristes” Hits Deep

One of the most unforgettable moments of the night came when they debuted “Ojos Tristes,” their brand new collaboration with Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco. Monterrey had the honor of hearing the song live for the first time, whether intentional and serendipitous, it was an exciting moment.

The crowd was moved by the moment, not just because of the beauty of the song, but because Monterrey is known as the hometown of Selena Gomez’s parents, giving the debut an added layer of significance. The performance felt quiet and deeply heartfelt.

As Maria leaned into the mic, the first melancholic chords rang out, the venue fell into a captivated hush. Even without Gomez or Blanco present, the song’s emotional core radiated through the singer’s delivery. The audience swayed, many singing along to the lyrics they were hearing for the first time live. It was a premiere that didn’t just introduce a new track, but created a memory rooted in shared identity and pride.

Back to Me” Leaves Fans Breathless

As if one debut wasn’t enough, the band immediately followed with their brand new single, “Back to Me”, a single that dropped moments after the show. The timing was impeccable. Fans screamed in disbelief as they were eager to soak in a brand new sound from a band that constantly reinvents itself without losing its charm and essence.

Back to Me” is vibrant and emotional, pulsing with the alt-pop textures. The Marías are known for and laced with a darker, more current edge. Live, it hit even harder. And the reaction from the crowd? Instant love.

A Mutual Love Between Band and Audience

There was a tangible exchange of energy all night long. Fans showered the band with affection, yelling, “¡Te amo Maria!” between songs, swaying arm in arm in slower numbers and jumping in the fast pace ones. Maria laughed, blushed, and responded to the shouts from the crowd, turning the Showcenter complex into something that felt more like a gathering of friends than a traditional concert.

It wasn’t just Maria who received love. The rest of the band: Josh Conway, Edward James, and Jesse Perlman, were greeted with just as much warmth. Each solo, beat, and bassline was met with whoops and applause. This was a crowd that didn’t just know The Marías; they adored them.

A Night That Felt Like Magic

This was more than a show. It was an experience marked with connection and honesty. The Marías didn’t just perform, they opened themselves up to a crowd that gave them nothing but love and gratitude in return. Every second felt intentional and immersive.

The Marías have always been a band that lives in between: English and Spanish, soft and loud, vintage and modern. On this night, they proved once again why that in-between space is exactly where the magic happens.
