As I Lay Dying @ Summit Denver

As I Lay Dying’s show at Summit Denver was anything but dead. They absolutely crushed their show on July 16, 2024 in Denver, CO. Warming up the crowed was Chelsea Grin and Entheos, making for a rockin’ night.

Entheos

Entheos formed in 2015 around the talents of Navene Koperweis, Evan Brewer, Frank Costa, and Chaney Crabb. After the 2008 breakup of Animosity, Koperweis, Brewer, and Costa bounced around between other projects. Koperweis, who had produced Crabb’s former band Systems, impressed by her vocal style, and thought she would be the perfect fit for his and his ex-Animosity bandmates’ new project. The band came together quickly, it’s EP, Primal, in early 2015. Infinite Nothing, the group’s debut studio album appeared in 2016. Entheos returned in November 2017 with their LP, Dark Future, which also made a strong showing on the U.S. indie and hard rock charts. Released in 2023, Time Will Take Us All saw Entheos add new sonic textures to their progressive metal palette, including elements of groove-metal, grunge, electronica, and jazz-tinged goth-rock.

As I Lay Dying

San Diego’s As I Lay Dying are a metalcore band whose sound employs elements of melodic death, grindcore, and hooky classic metal. After initially emerging as a Christian guitar/drums/vocals trio (whose lyrics never reflected their beliefs) with their highly regarded, self-recorded full-length Beneath the Encasing of Ashes in 2001, they signed to Metal Blade and became a quintet whose brutal attack and meaty riffs drew legions of fans across the globe, making them a festival headliner. Their 2007 long-player, An Ocean Between Us, debuted at number eight on the Top 200.
