Kevin Gates @ Red Rocks

Kevin Gates slayed Red Rocks on June 18th, 2024 in Morrison, CO. Kicking off the night were Maiya The Don, That Mexican OT, and NLE Choppa. This show truly had no moment to sit and think. Between the DJ’s and quick set changes, it was a party from start to finish.

Maiya The Don

Maiya The Don opened the night by delivering her strong pretty girl New York energy to the Red Rocks stage. She came out fierce & dominated the stage, with backup dancers, killer dance moves and rap game like no other. We also love love love seeing a woman on stage absolutely smashing AKA more women plz.

That Mexican OT

That Mexican OT was a crowd favorite. His passionate Lonestar Luchador energy brought Red Rocks to his world of rap. He’s been rapping for 20 years & started out by listening to people like 50 cent when he was just 4 years old.

One of our favorite moments from his set was when he brought a young super fan on stage. He signed the young boys’ hat & performed with him on stage.

He was very gracious to the crowd for their support of his passion for rapping. He also had such a great way of engaging with the crowd – EVERYONE was standing. And for an opener, that is what we like to see!

NLE Choppa

NLE Choppa continued the night with his high energy moves & fresh energetic raps. Literally running onto the stage, dripped out in swag, bling, chains – you name it. We also got word his momma was on stage with him & it warmed our hearts to see her up there supporting her son. Another highlight from the set was that he performed his NLE walk with That Mexican OT.

Kevin Gates

The Ceremony brought out the General for his second headlining show at Red Rocks. He painted a picture of his life from his perspective and how it has changed on his spiritual journey. His clenched teeth street rap was showcased alongside his DJ, guitar player & keyboardist. His white button up shirt, sunglasses, bling, and fedora made for a powerful presence for the crowd to enjoy. He dropped confessional words of wisdom throughout his concert. Discussing things such as his relationship with his daughter when he was incarcerated and how he made up for it by giving her 2 birthday parties when he was released. The message being that we are not our past. To discussing things like being toxic but how the women are going to love it if they get Gates attention.

“He who has seen me has seen God.”

Gates healed us with his words & his ever powerful presence. He even had this emotional confession between songs:

“If I didn’t face fear, y’all wouldn’t know who Kevin Gates is….”.

His healing power continued after the show in an intimate interview setting with the media.

He discussed his healing through yoga & emotional detox. You can tell by his presence that he has put in the work to mean it. He believes that he is doing his mission.

“A man who meets his mission, he and his mission become one. I’m doing what makes me feel alive.”

He also discussed his new coffee venture describing himself as a coffee connoisseur & stating that it’s part of his morning ritual: black coffee. Gates believes that if he can save 1 person you save 1,000. He talked about his fitness journey, discussing yoga, self love & learning to achieve optimal breathing. His peace healed Red Rocks Tuesday night.
