Denver Rocks with Of Monsters and Men at Mission Ballroom

Of Monsters and Men

Of Monsters and Men lit up Mission Ballroom on November 23, 2025, in Denver, CO, delivering a show full of soaring anthems and heartfelt moments. Opening the night was the intimate folk stylings of Árný Margrét, setting the perfect tone for an unforgettable evening.

Árný Margrét

Hailing from Ísafjörður, Iceland, Árný Margrét Sævarsdóttir (b. 2001) began her musical journey at a young age, learning piano at six before picking up guitar in her teens. Drawing inspiration from artists like Gregory Alan Isakov, Bon Iver, and Phoebe Bridgers, she developed an intimate and introspective folk sound that blends traditional and contemporary elements.

After attending a folk school in Denmark following high school, Árný returned to Iceland during the pandemic and continued writing the songs that would form her early releases. Her debut album, They Only Talk About the Weather (2022), and subsequent EP Dinner Alone (2023) helped her gain attention both in Europe and the United States, performing at festivals such as South by Southwest (SXSW), Newport Folk Festival, and Iceland Airwaves.

Her 2025 sophomore album, I Miss You, I Do, expands her sound with a fuller band and hints of country influences, showcasing her ability to combine emotional intimacy with rich instrumentation. Árný has toured internationally and shared stages with artists including Passenger, Blake Mills, and Ásgeir, continuing to make her mark with heartfelt songwriting and captivating live performances.

Of Monsters and Men

Icelandic rockers Of Monsters and Men have been captivating fans worldwide since their breakout debut, My Head Is an Animal, and the massive hit “Little Talks.” Their blend of indie folk and chamber pop, layered with rich instrumentation and soaring harmonies, quickly set them apart and turned them into a global phenomenon. Over the years, they have continued to evolve, from the introspective sophomore album Beneath the Skin to the synth-heavy energy of Fever Dream, and the intimate storytelling captured in the EP and documentary Tíu.

Of Monsters and Men formed in Reykjavík in 2009, the band—singer/guitarists Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir and Ragnar Þórhallsson, guitarist Brynjar Leifsson, keyboardist Árni Guðjónsson, bassist Kristján Páll Kristjánsson, and drummer Arnar Rósenkranz Hilmarsson—quickly rose to international attention, winning Iceland’s Battle of the Bands just a year after forming. Their music has reached far beyond Iceland, appearing in films, television, and on some of the world’s biggest festival stages, including Coachella, Glastonbury, and Lollapalooza.

With each release, they have kept fans hooked with emotionally powerful songs, unforgettable live performances, and a signature sound that balances sweeping anthems with delicate, heartfelt moments. Their latest album, All Is Love and Pain in the Mouse Parade (2025), continues that tradition, showcasing their ability to reinvent while staying true to the intensity and intimacy that first drew listeners in. Experiencing Of Monsters and Men live is a reminder of why their music resonates globally: it’s big, it’s personal, and it’s impossible not to feel every note.
