On June 1, 2025, Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado hosted a captivating night of indie rock as Peach Pit and Briston Maroney co-headlined the “Long Hair, Long Life Tour.” The evening began with an energetic set from opener BNNY, who got the crowd moving despite an earlier rain delay. Briston Maroney followed with an electric performance, paving the way for Peach Pit to close the night with their signature blend of indie-pop and rock.
BNNY
BNNY is an indie rock band from Chicago, led by vocalist and songwriter Jessica Viscius. The group originated in 2017 as a solo project named Bunny, which Viscius began after finding a vintage guitar left at her apartment. She taught herself a few chords and quickly found songwriting to be therapeutic in ways visual art couldn’t touch. Eventually, her twin sister Alexa joined as bassist, and with the addition of guitarist Tim Makowski, drummer Matt Pelkey, and guitarist Adam Schubert, the band solidified its lineup and changed its name to BNNY.
BNNY’s music is characterized by its dreamy indie rock sound, blending elements of lo-fi rock and alternative rock. Their debut album, Everything (2021), was written in the face of tragedy, following the death of Viscius’ partner, fellow Chicago musician Trey Gruber. The album received positive reviews, with Pitchfork calling it “a beautiful record from wall to wall, comfort food for heartbroken insomniacs.”
In 2024, BNNY released their second full-length album, One Million Love Songs, recorded in Asheville, North Carolina, with co-producer Alex Farrar. The album explores themes of love, loss, and self-discovery, showcasing Viscius’ growth as an arranger and artist. The band continues to tour, bringing their emotionally resonant music to audiences across the United States and Europe.
