Russell Dickerson

Russell Dickerson, born on May 7, 1987, in Union City, Tennessee, is a dynamic American country pop singer-songwriter renowned for his charismatic stage presence, infectious melodies, and emotionally charged lyrics. Growing up in a musically inclined household, Russell Dickerson developed a passion for music early in life, eventually pursuing his dreams by earning a bachelor’s degree in music from Belmont University in Nashville—an institution known for producing many successful artists in the country music scene.

Russell Dickerson officially launched his music career with the release of his debut extended play, Die to Live Again, in 2011, introducing listeners to his signature blend of heartfelt storytelling and contemporary country-pop flair. However, it wasn’t until the release of his breakout single “Yours” in 2015 that he truly caught the attention of the industry. The song, a deeply romantic ballad inspired by his relationship with his wife Kailey, went viral and garnered millions of streams, ultimately leading to a record deal with Triple Tigers. His debut full-length album, Yours, released in 2017, was met with critical acclaim and commercial success, establishing Dickerson as a rising star in modern country music.

Building on the momentum of his early success, Russell Dickerson continued to climb the charts with a string of hit singles, including the summery and cinematic “Blue Tacoma,” the upbeat “Every Little Thing,” and the reflective “Love You Like I Used To.” Each release further showcased his ability to craft relatable narratives while evolving his sound. His sophomore album, Southern Symphony, released in 2020, highlighted his growth as an artist, blending country traditions with modern production and wide-ranging influences.

In 2022, Dickerson demonstrated his versatility and collaborative spirit by teaming up with pop-influenced singer-songwriter Jake Scott for the platinum-certified single “She Likes It.” The track was praised for its smooth fusion of genres and playful, romantic lyrics, expanding Dickerson’s appeal to new audiences beyond traditional country fans.

Most recently, in early 2025, Dickerson released the single “Happen to Me,” a reflective track that hints at a more introspective direction in his songwriting. With this release and more projects rumored to be in the works, Russell Dickerson continues to push creative boundaries while staying true to the heartfelt storytelling that first earned him his place in the spotlight. As his career unfolds, he remains one of country music’s most engaging and forward-thinking artists.
