TALK took the stage by storm at The Atlantis for a sold-out show on March 7, 2024 in Washington DC. With support from Zinadelphia, the entire show was a must-see experience!
Zinadelphia
Zinadelphia took the stage to start the night off. She is an incredible rising artist from Philadelphia (notice the reference in her name), Pennsylvania. Zinadelphia had been on tour with TALK for almost a month before she took the stage in DC. I will always be amazed at how artists maintain their energy every single night.
The standout quality of Zinadelphia that I noticed from her set was her relatability. She told personal stories and tidbits about her life. This allowed the audience an inside look at the experiences that have shaped her music. My favorite moment was when she admitted that she had forgotten her shoes in the car for this particular show. Assuming she meant she had forgotten them but retrieved them before performing, I glanced down to see she was shoeless. This of course made me, as well as the rest of the crowd, chuckle. A voice rang out from the crowd yelling “F*CK THOSE SHOES!” in solidarity which in turn caused Zinadelphia to laugh.
Overall, the set was filled with lots of laughs, relatable anecdotes, and of course stellar musical talent.

TALK
TALK is iconic. Saying I was excited to be photographing him (after watching footage of his performance at the NHL All-Star game) would be an understatement, and even then I had no idea the sheer amount of joy the evening would bring. The performance started before TALK even took the stage. The set started with Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody playing over the speakers. Listening to a sold-out venue sing Bohemian Rhapsody in the photo pit was a surreal experience. The two other photographers and I were dancing in the pit while sharing in such a beautiful collective experience with the entire crowd. The music died down, and then TALK took the stage in the most phenomenal outfit complete with a cape and a scepter.
TALK’s energy is contagious. He was having such a great time on stage and that directly translated to everyone in the audience having a great time. At one point, he stopped to address to audience, joking that he had always wanted to be a spy since he was in Washington, D.C.
The contagious energy was especially apparent as the venue prepared themselves for TALK’s iconic Croc Kick (he kicks off his Crocs into the audience). This has become a staple at his shows and a bit of a competition to see who will get to catch each of the elusive Crocs. As the crowd screamed and waved their arms above their heads, he kicked one shoe into the back of the pit before launching the second up into the center of the balcony (an impressive feat to say the least). The lucky fans held onto those shoes for a bit before launching them back onto the stage for TALK to put back on (before the show I was wondering if he had to replace his Crocs every time LOL).

TALK’s show was about as much fun as you can have at a concert! Not only was the music and performance phenomenal, all the fans being so into the set elevated the energy in the entire venue making the experience even better than it already was!
