Ason Yugen, an Indiana native, blends the nostalgic sounds of boom bap with compelling topics. But certainly he is never boxed sonically. Energetic, thought provoking, and cinematic are just a few words to capture his artistry. Having a hand in hip hop for several years, he is shaking up Denver with each performance. Jesse Santana, A.K.A ReSrface, is a 24 year old rapper from Denver, CO. He takes pride in his lyrics over anything else. He is ready to start breaking into the local, and hopefully national, mainstream rap scene and hopes his music will change how rap is delivered to the national public.

Binta Zang

“I am a hip-hop songwriter and performer. All of my lyrics are 100% penned by me, and I’ve actually co-wrote a few songs for other artists as well. My friends would always tell me I have a natural stage presence and tell me I was just the greatest, but I felt like they just said it to be nice. I started to believe it when complete strangers would approach me both in real life and online, just to tell me how impressed they were with my lyrics and my delivery.

I’ve been recording music for about 4-5 years, but I’ve only been performing my songs live for less than a year now. My first time was last July in Los Angeles, a very intimate show. I remember leaving LA thinking to myself, ‘Well that was alright but I know in my heart I can be better.’ So I came home and started going to open mic nights around Denver weekly.”

Colorado rapper Malcolm Whyz3 (pronouced wise) curates rhymes that touch on real life topics. He is an introspective artist who does not shy away from the realness of life.
