When We Were Young 2024’s lineup provides a mass list of iconic names. While the headliners will always be a must-see, we have our own list of artists that we know you will want to attend.

We Are The In Crowd

Taylor Jardine, the singer for WATIC, is a fantastic frontwoman and has always provided incredible live vocals. Their music, characterized by catchy hooks, relatable lyrics, and high-energy instrumentals, will make a true sight to see at a live show. After taking a hiatus, any opportunity to see them live becomes even more special for those of us who’ve waited years for their return. The prospect of hearing both classic hits and potentially new material makes their performances a must-see event.

Hey Monday

While the singer of Hey Monday, Cassadee Pope, just released her newest album, Hereditary, the last time the band was entirely together and active was in 2011. While we’ve thoroughly enjoyed her solo endeavors and the new dimensions she’s exploring musically, a part of us holds a special place for the band’s original magic. We’re eagerly anticipating seeing Hey Monday reunite to perform their classic hits. Their music, emblematic of a particular era, continues to resonate with fans old and new, and a reunion would be a nostalgic celebration of their journey and achievements.

The Wonder Years

The Wonder Years have consistently been at the forefront of the pop-punk and emo revival, making them a thrilling addition to the lineup. The band’s ability to articulate the complexities of growing up, mental health, and finding one’s place in the world while delivering high-energy performances sets them apart. This unique blend of emotional resonance, lyrical depth, and dynamic live energy makes The Wonder Years a must-see on our list.

State Champs

State Champs’ music strikes a perfect balance between nostalgia and freshness. Their sound is a nod to the golden era of pop-punk, yet it feels entirely current and relevant. This makes their set not just a performance but a journey through the highs and lows of youth, something the “When We Were Young” festival is all about. Known for their dynamic stage presence, State Champs have a way of connecting with the crowd, making every show memorable. Their blend of catchy melodies and punk energy creates an infectious atmosphere that gets everyone singing along.

Since their formation, Mayday Parade has been a quintessential part of the emo and pop-punk scene. Their ability to craft deeply emotional, relatable lyrics paired with infectious melodies makes them stand out. Against The Current helps showcase the diverse and evolving nature of the scene. It’s a call to experience live music that bridges the gap between genres, inviting fans to witness a nostalgic and forward-looking band. Their set is an opportunity to celebrate growth, resilience, and the unifying power of music. The band’s singer, Chrissy Costanza, is another incredible female vocalist and an absolute powerhouse of a singer. She is also an artist who has worked alongside many of the bands at this festival. It’s a fantastic addition to the festival, and we absolutely won’t be missing their set.

My Chemical Romance

My Chemical Romance is probably a given “can’t skip” for most festival goers, but it’s one for us as well. MCR is a band that defined an era, especially for those who grew up in the early 2000s. Their music resonates with a sense of nostalgia that’s perfectly in line with the festival’s theme. Having always been outspoken supporters of the LGBTQIA+ community, we’re doubly excited to see a band that helped make all of us feel accepted when WE were young.
