Blu DeTiger is an icon as she took over The Atlantis on April 26, 2024 in Washington DC. Supporting her was Black Polish.
Black Polish
Black Polish brought The Atlantis to life and had the perfect energy to open for DeTiger. Having released their album “Forest” in June of this year, Black Polish had lots of choices for their setlist. By the time it was done, they had fans begging for more. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see them back in DC again soon. Either another tour as an opener or their own headlining tour.
With Black Polish being from Maryland (before moving to LA), there’s always something extra special to me about a hometown show (even if the show was in DC). There’s something so intimate in my mind about sharing that experience with an artist. And the fans definitely showed up to make this moment special and memorable. The crowd was singing along and applauding as Black Polish danced on stage. With a stage presence that I can only describe as captivating. They were truly a fun artist to capture, flipping their hair & not afraid of dancing on stage. Those moments make for some amazing images! They are not an artist I was familiar with before this tour, but they will certainly be an artist I keep up with in the future. Sometimes the best shows are the ones that give you one of your new favorite artists!

Blu DeTiger
Maybe it’s her incredible fashion sense. Maybe it’s her mesmerizing stage presence. Or it’s the way she makes playing the bass while dancing look easy. Whatever it is, there’s no denying that Blu DeTiger is a badass girl boss who appears effortlessly cool. DeTiger is, in my opinion, nothing short of iconic. At the age of 26, DeTiger already has a resume a mile long. She’s toured with the Bleachers, performed with Olivia Rodrigo, made the Forbes’ 30 under 30 list for music, and opened for Sabrina Carpenter (and that doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of her long list of experience). And now she’s out delighting fans on her headlining North American tour, the “All I Ever Want Is…” Tour. It’s certainly safe to say that after the magic I witnessed during her stop at The Atlantis, this is not a tour that you will want to miss!
Dance Partay!
If you do get the chance to catch DeTiger on this tour run, make sure to bring your dancing shoes because the dancing and energy was certainly one of the highlights of the evening. DeTiger even made a point of asking the crowd if they were ready to dance before breaking into her hit “Dangerous Game” during the first half of her set. It is safe to say that the fans were loving it. I don’t think there was a single person standing still in the whole venue. The energy only grew from there as she leaned out over the audience to play her bass, getting face to face with the crowd while singing, and even climbed off the stage to play on the barricade. She truly had every fan in the venue feeling like they were one in a million. If a passerby who was not familiar with the venue & heard the commotion coming from inside, they would certainly think we were all participating in the world’s most EPIC dance party!
One of the most memorable moments of the show was when DeTiger turned an onstage mishap into an unforgettable moment. One of her band members experienced a broken guitar string early on in the set and needed to grab, and I believe tune, a different guitar to continue. Instead of there being any sort of awkward silence or a waiting period, DeTiger took it as the perfect opportunity to play a little bass, chat with the fans, and connect with everyone in the venue. It felt a lot like catching up with an old friend over coffee. DC was so lucky to experience a mishap that DeTiger seamlessly turned into a beautiful moment!
Ending The Night
There are some shows that you leave simply exhausted, and this is one of those shows. You’ll go home having lost your voice from loudly singing along to every word, and your feet will hurt from dancing the night away to incredible music. In my experience, that is the best kind of exhausted to be… exhausted but happy, your head full of incredible memories that you’ll talk about for years down the line. DeTiger delivers a stunning performance that will tire you out and leave you dreaming of the next time she’s in your city!
