Briston Maroney returned to Nashville’s Blue Room on November 5, 2025, for a packed night during his fourth annual Paradise Fest. The evening brought together an energizing lineup featuring Cameron Schmidt, Eden Joel, and Maroney himself, creating a seamless flow of performances that captured the spirit of the festival and the community he’s continued to build around it.
Cameron Schmidt
Cameron Schmidt is an emerging alternative artist originally from Irvine, California, whose music blends intimate songwriting with emotional transparency and atmospheric production. Born in 2000, Schmidt grew up listening to iconic storytellers such as Elliott Smith and Townes Van Zandt, both of whom heavily influenced his lyrical approach. Their introspective, vulnerable styles helped shape his understanding of music as a vehicle for honesty, while the lush harmonies of the Beach Boys provided early inspiration for his melodic instincts. This combination of influences contributes to Schmidt’s singular sound — one that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly modern.
Schmidt began writing and self-recording music as a teenager, slowly developing his craft and experimenting with arrangements that complemented his soft vocal delivery. Over time, he cultivated a dedicated fanbase drawn to the sincerity of his lyrics and the warmth of his sonic palette. His songs explore themes of identity, relationships, longing, and self-reflection, connecting deeply with listeners who seek authenticity from emerging artists in the alt-folk and indie space.
His first major project arrived in early 2025 with the release of You Were in a Hurry to Make Something of Yourself, an album that marked a new creative chapter. The record showcases his growth as both a songwriter and producer, pairing emotional storytelling with thoughtful instrumentation. Each track reveals a different layer of Schmidt’s perspective, offering insight into the experiences and inner conflicts that have shaped his young adulthood. The album introduced him to a broader audience and signaled his potential to become a defining voice among the next generation of alternative musicians.
As he continues to release new music and collaborate with fellow artists, Schmidt remains focused on writing songs that feel honest and intentional. His commitment to vulnerability and artistic growth positions him as a rising figure in the indie world, and fans continue to follow his work with anticipation for what comes next.

Growing up immersed in the music world, he began writing and recording at a young age, developing a distinctive voice shaped by both pop sensibility and introspective storytelling. His upbringing exposed him to touring life early on, allowing him to observe the craft of songwriting and performance firsthand. This blend of natural talent and real-world experience helped him transition smoothly into a career centered around authentic, melody-driven artistry.
Over the past several years, Joel has released a series of singles that showcase his signature mix of clever lyricism, smooth vocals, and bright indie pop textures. His music often explores themes of growth, relationships, nostalgia, and personal transformation — all woven through catchy melodies that resonate with listeners across genres. He has also spent extensive time on the road, performing alongside rising acts such as Stephen Sanchez, Annie DiRusso, and Hannah Cole. These live experiences helped him refine his presence onstage and build a growing audience invested in his artistic evolution.
In 2025, Joel reached a major milestone when he signed a global publishing deal with Concord Music Publishing and Big Family Music, covering both his existing catalog and future releases. That same year, he took a leap forward on the production side by co-writing and producing on Annie DiRusso’s debut album Superpedestrian, showcasing his discipline and creative versatility. He also released new music of his own, including the popular singles “Deadweight” and “Used To,” both of which highlighted his talent for crafting instantly memorable hooks anchored by vulnerability. With a debut EP on the horizon and increasing industry recognition, Joel continues to gain momentum as one of indie pop’s most exciting young voices.
