Glass Animals slayed Red Rocks on September 4th, 2024 in Morrison, CO. Eyedress opened up the evening and had the crowd moving in no time.
Eyedress
The alias of Filipino artist Idris Vicuña is Eyedress, formerly lead guitarist of psychedelic indie/noise-pop band Bee Eyes. Born in 1990 in the city of Makati, Philippines, Vicuña relocated to the US with his family at the age of 6. He grew up in Phoenix, Arizona before moving to San Clemente, California at the age of 13, where he started playing bass in a Crass-influenced crust-punk band.
In 2005, Vicuña moved back to Manila where he formed Bee Eyes with friends Julius Valledor and Diego Abad. Valledor taught Vicuña the art of sampling and making loops. During downtime from the band Vicuña pursued his own project, which would eventually become Eyedress.
Eyedress released his debut album ’Manila Ice’ on Lex in 2017. Described as an album about love and survival in the Philippines. His second album ‘Sensitive G’ was released by Lex in late 2018.
Early in 2020 Eyedress dropped the ‘Jealous’ EP. The title track has proved to be his most popular to date. Valentines Day single ‘Let’s Skip To The Wedding’ was accompanied by a 16mm video directed by Angela Stephenson. Following this release was Mulholland Drive (2021) and Full Time Lover (2022). After signing with RCA, he remained a prolific singles artist with tracks like “Flowers and Chocolate” and the Mac DeMarco collaboration “The Dark Prince.” The lengthy and highly collaborative mixtape Vampire in Beverly Hills appeared in 2024.

Glass Animals
The skilled U.K. genre-mashers Glass Animals bring synth pop, indie, R&B, and hip-hop together in innovative and inviting ways. On 2014’s ZABA, Dave Bayley’s androgynous falsetto and surreal lyrics fit perfectly with the album’s rippling guitars and aquatic synths, resulting in alien yet alluring tracks like the certified-platinum single “Gooey.” Glass Animals revealed new dimensions to their music, as well as Bayley’s songwriting, on the artful character sketches of 2016’s Mercury Prize-nominated How to Be a Human Being.
They took a more personal approach on 2020’s abstractly autobiographical Dreamland, mixing pop culture allusions from Bayley’s ’90s childhood into futuristic-sounding songs like the worldwide hit “Heat Waves.” Glass Animals responded to this success — which included a Grammy nomination — with the imaginative expressions of our need to connect on 2024’s I Love You So F***ing Much.
