On April 28th, indie rock favorites Joywave brought their eclectic and electric energy to the historic Fox Theatre in Boulder, CO, for a night that music fans won’t soon forget. The venue buzzed with anticipation as concertgoers packed the intimate space, ready for an evening filled with synth-driven beats and infectious hooks.
Kicking things off were rising alt-pop trio Little Image, who delivered a high-energy performance that set the tone with shimmering melodies and emotionally charged lyrics. Their set built the perfect momentum, warming up the crowd and laying the groundwork for what was to come.
As the lights dimmed and the first notes rang out, Joywave took the stage with their signature flair, immediately captivating the audience. With a setlist that blended fan favorites and fresh tracks from their latest album, the band showcased their genre-defying sound and undeniable stage presence, creating a live experience that felt both intimate and explosive.
Little Image
Little Image is a Dallas-based alt-pop trio known for blending indie rock with electronic and synth-pop elements. The band consists of Jackson Simmons (vocals/guitar), Brandon Walters (bass/synth), and Troy Bruner (drums). Formed in 2017, they began as a group of high school friends with a shared passion for underground indie music. Their early work, including the debut album Musings, showcased their raw energy and evolving sound.
In 2020, the band took a step back to refine their musical direction. The pandemic provided them with the time needed to develop their unique style. This period of introspection led to a partnership with producer Chad Copelin, resulting in their self-titled debut album released in May 2023. The album’s standout track, “OUT OF MY MIND,” became their first #1 hit on the Alternative Radio Chart.
Following the album’s success, Little Image embarked on a U.S. headline tour and made appearances at major festivals such as Shakey Knees and Wonderbus Music & Arts Festival. In early 2025, they released “THE PRESSURE,” a track that delves into themes of anxiety and emotional burnout, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their musical journey.
