Nickelback brought their Get Rollin’ Tour to Denver, CO on July 18 playing a killer show at Ball Arena. The evening was started by Josh Ross followed by Brantley Gilbert before the headliners themselves got on that stage. We had a blaaast with a mix of nostalgia in there; all our thoughts & photo coverage below!
Josh Ross
Josh’s set really brought the country vibes, while also engaging with the crowd. He moved around that stage and gave us some goofy guy dance moves, but in the best way. I was unfamiliar with him prior to this show, but what I gather is it seems he’s an up and coming Country artist. I’d keep your eye on him & what he’s doing, if I were you!

Brantley Gilbert
Brantley Brantley Brantley. What an absolute killer opening set to get us warmed up and ready for Nickelback. He brings so much life to that stage, it’s not even funny. I love the mix of country, rock & a hint of metal (& I do not like metal) you get during his set. Also, his pyro is on another level & selfishly makes my job a lot easier capturing those pics. S/o to his production, FO REAL. My favorite part from his set was towards the end, he jumped down into the pit and interacted with the front row(s) of fans. These are the kinds of moments that we live for & are moments fans are going to remember forever. As AJR said: “It only takes a second to make a moment.”

Nickelback
Thiiiiiiiiis is everything my younger self was looking forward to. The nostalgia of seeing the songs played live that I grew up listening to: NO WORDS. Okay, well that’s not exactly true because so many thoughts. First, Rockstar has always been my absolute favorite song from Nickelback & getting to belt it at the top of my lungs warmed my heart. During that song, though, they brought a fan up on stage to sing it with them. Which I think should’ve been me, TBH. But oh well, missed opportunity on their end. Anyways, this guy was shouting out towns and sports teams not in Denver, which really didn’t sit well with the crowd and there were many “boos” to be heard. Although, I am not. boo-er in any scenario so I did not partake. It feels icky to me and I just want everyone to get along!
Another moment during the set, Nickelback was doing a cover song (I forget which one, my B), they brought back out Josh Ross & Brantley Gilbert to help sing it. Magicalness, if you ask me. Giving openers an opportunity for more stage time is so honorary in my book. And getting to see them all interact, it’s a sweet moment as a fan to witness artists support each other. Love love loved it.
I have always been a big fan of Nickelback & was just in awe of the whole performance. Amazing vocals & maaaan their graphics during songs/transitions were on another level. Very animated while also life like. The show was a killer & you have to go see it if they’re coming near you! I got that PCD, y’all.
