Phillip Phillips @ Gothic Theatre

Phillip Phillips brought his “Draft Back” tour to Denver, CO on October 30, 2023 and played a kick ass show at Gothic Theatre. Supporting him was Jonah Kagen, who decided to start halloween early and dress up in costume – we love to see it.

Safe to say I was confused when Jonah walked on stage wearing a costume resembling Dumbledore, with his two band members rocking costumes as well. Come to find out this was their last night on tour, so they had to bring out the costumes a day early. It made for some great comedy and entertainment during the set, Jonah struggling with his guitars interfering with the large beard, a lone eyebrow left on after stripping himself of the extraness. But all fun aside, Jonah had a light but powerhouse of a voice to soothe the souls in the crowd.

So, I could go on and on and on about how this mans deserves all the love and support. Phillip Phillips may have won American Idol years ago, but he is STILL putting out fire music. It’s so uplifting, relatable, good, and watching him play, you can tell this is where he belongs. He’s supposed to be up on that stage; you can see the joy on his face. It was truly truly truly one of my favorite shows in a long time – it also helps I knew almost every song. And aren’t those shows where you can just jam + belt out every word the best?!
