Spencer Sutherland @ Marquis Theater

Guys, Spencer Sutherland is the bestest evah evah evah. I have and always will support artists from Ohio and especially Spencer since we both are originally from Columbus. I’ve been there since his VVVVV early days and it’s been such a journey watching him grow in his career. Proud fan right huurrrrr.

Now…let’s get to this show coverage, shall we?! There were 4 artists so a full lineup, buckle up!

Show took place on April 24, 2023 at Marquis Theater and was SOLD OUT!

Cloe Wilder

First up, we had Cloe Wilder. What an absolutely sweeeeeet set. She really just floated up on that stage, taking in the energy, singing her heart out and VIBIN’.

Michael Minelli

MMMk, Michael brought the fckn ENERGY to his set. But we gotta talk about his hair first. TBH when I first saw him at the merch, I thought it was a wig. But that’s a testament to how DOPE it is. The curls. The bright blonde. It is a LEWWWWWK and I lurve it. Okay…but back to this set. I absolutely was moving and grooving the entire time. He was jumping around, showing us his killer dance moves and just straight up SLAYYYYING. The beats were dropping and the bars were flowing. Basically, a new fan here. Psssst, he’ll be back in Denver June 1 opening for his brother Anees, so like GET YO TICKETS YA HEARD.

JORDY

YALLLLLLL. Me being a newb didn’t know Jordy waves around the rainbow flag like meeeeeeeee. I love to support my fellow queers but let’s get into the MUSICA because that is the reason we are here ja feel? Jordy absolutely BLEW ME AWAY. Like out the window and tumbling down the street. And to my surprise, I actually knew one of his songs (Trevor) as it was on one of my playlists from last year so you know I was scream singing all dem words. One of the touching parts of his set was him telling the story of transforming the song “Story of a Girl” and turning it into “Story of a Boy.” He said this was to make it more relatable to his story and the response and way it has helped people coming to terms with their sexuality or gender. Incredible. My favorite part of music is how it can help people and how much it has an impact. Making a difference is THE BEST. So yes, loved Jordy’s set and counting down the days until he returns to Denver and I can see him again!

Spencer Sutherland

We have arrived: the headliner himself, Spencer Sutherland. This mans out here just having those die hard fans that I’ve been for forever. YAAS QUEEEEENS we are united. Shouts to his Tik Toks for that exposure & opening for Big Time Rush last year. He deserves all the success and more. Spencer has always had a great stage presence. During his set, he was “stage flirting” with fans, holding hands, booty tooching (IYKYK, ANTM anyone?), and his vocals just never disappoint. The high notes he can hit are WILD. Like Adam Levine level. He also came into the crowd for one song; I love when artists do this because it gives the fans who couldn’t make it to front row, a chance to see them up close and personal. 100/10.
