Summer Salt @ Gothic Theatre

We had a fabulous time covering Summer Salt at Gothic Theatre on July 27 in Englewood, Colorado. To begin the entertainment was Addison Grace….then followed by The Rare Occasions. An evening full of music & dancing!

Addison Grace

Addison Grace makes personal music for a universal audience, intimate songs which somehow manage to speak what the listener feels but cannot quite put into words. The 20-year-old UT-based singer, songwriter, and social media star – who is non-binary and uses he/they pronouns – has fast made a name for themselves as a singular new artist, showcasing their one-of-a-kind perspective through mesmerizing bedroom pop and a bold, funny, utterly idiosyncratic online persona.

The Rare Occasions

The Rare Occasions are an LA-based, New England-bred indie rock band known for their explosive garage rock anthems with catchy vocal harmonies. Brian McLaughlin (singer) and Luke Imbusch (drummer) have been making music together since their early teenage years. They formed The Rare Occasions while attending college in Boston where they met Jeremy Cohen (bassist). Since then, the band have toured nationally, won the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, and released a vast catalog of music online.

Summer Salt

“We are Summer Salt, which is original members Matthew Terry (vocals, guitar) and Eugene Chung (vocals, drums, guitar), along with [others] who is currently fill in on [other roles]. We are all originally from the North Texas area and met while in high school. Our music has really come together as a collective of everything that we are interested in or at least that’s what we are trying to do! We want to add elements to our sound composed of everything that inspires us or that we find beautiful or unique. It definitely has tropical elements, pop, some moodier jazz instrumentation, but at the base we would probably say our music is about melody and feeling.”
