The Japanese House @ Summit Denver

The Japanese House played at Summit Denver on November 28th, 2023. Hyping up the crowd for their set was Quinnie.

Quinnie

Quinnie got the crowd comfortable with her beautiful, calming music while she opened up the night. Putting a spin on typical indie songs, quinnie switches from upbeat to slow in a matter of seconds. Included in her setlist were a handful on unreleased songs, giving the fans a look into whats coming and exciting them for the remainder of the set. The connection Quinnie had with the fans was so strong and you could tell she truly loves the play and connect with her audience.

The Japanese House

Amber Bain, better known by her stage name, The Japanese House, took her place at Summit alongside her band. Billboard described their sound as “meticulously-crafted indie synth-pop,” and I couldn’t agree more. The show was a rollercoaster of emotions, constantly switching between tempos and I wouldn’t have liked it any other way. The setlist was as well-crafted as everything else in Bain’s career and we’re excited to see where it leads.

She started the night off with two of my favorites, “Sad to Breathe,” and “Touching Yourself.” Both of these songs start slower and move to a faster pace, getting the audience excited. I also noticed the lighting of the show fit very well with her songs and complimented the music. The night went on without a dull moment from Bain or her fans, and she ended the night with an amazing encore, no doubt leaving the whole crowd with a new dose of Post Concert Depression.
