Toadies delivered a wicked performance at The Aztec Theatre on December 28, 2023 in San Antonio, TX. Sharing the stage with them was Local H and together, they crushed it!
Local H
Local H was the first band to kick off this iconic performance with playing hits such as The Kids are Right and Eddie Vedder. Formed in 1990 out of highschool, vocalist and guitarist Scott Lucas is the only original remaining member. In 2013, Ryan Harding joined as their drummer and bassist, and since then, they have been known for their “unorthodox two-man lineup.”
Fans young and old were head banging and waving their arms up in the air to this duo. It’s surprising a mosh pit wasn’t formed! Not only did they have a killer performance, they’re comedians too. When Scott Lucas introduced the band, he advised the audience to tour with Toadies as, “More importantly, he lets us sleep in the morning.”
Local H ended their set with an encore, a great feat for an opening act.

Toadies
Just when you thought the audience couldn’t be anymore full, the Toadies walked out to a sold-out venue. They are a staple for rock music in Texas and fans screamed with excitement when they announced they were going to be playing new unreleased music as a part of their setlist. Of course, they also had to play some classics too including Possum Kingdom, and I Burn.
With Todd Lewis as the lead singer and on guitar, Mark Reznicek on the drums, Clark Vogeler also on the guitar and Doni Blair on the bass, fans were beyond excited for this Fort Worth Native band to visit San Antonio again. According to the venue’s manager, this is the third consecutive year that the Toadies have played at The Aztec on December 28th declaring it “Toadies Day.”
This was a great night for fans and the venue alike to close out 2023!
