AJR took over Weidner Field on June 24, 2023 in Colorado Springs, CO – safe to say we had the time of our lives covering the show. Shout out to their photographer, Austin Roa, who helped us get in. AJR was supported by Almost Monday, Em Beihold & Jeremy Zucker.

Almost Monday

Almost Monday brought the heat to their set. The lead singer, Dawson Daugherty, was working that stage like it was nobody’s business. Safe to say, it was enjoyable to watch & capture through the camera lens.

Em Beihold

Wow, what a sweet and beautiful soul Em Beihold was to witness. You can just tell she exudes joy & humility. When the doors opened, she was still doing her sound check, so an added bonus for those early fans in the venue who got to see that. Also, it’s always fun going in to a show thinking you don’t know the artist only to recognize her viral sensation “Numb Little Bug.”

Jeremy Zucker

Jeremy has always been a favorite & his vocals blew through the fckn roooooooof. Having seen him previously at Red Rocks and being in a not good head space led to not enjoying the set as much. It’s amazing how a difference in mood can completely reverse those feelings. Jeremy was an absolute KING to watch and dance along to. *CHEFS FREAKING KISS*

So. Many. Things. To. Say. AJR has ALWAYS just pushed boundaries and stuck to their sound & what works for them. To be a part of a show with about 10,000 people, having first seen them with probably less than 100, will never get old. It feels weird to be writing about such a joyous time at this show when they recently lost their father. We send our deepest condolences & will leave it at that for this time around.
