I have so much to say about Andy Frasco & The U.N. but almost so overwhelmed that I am speechless. If that makes sense. It was so insanely wild…let’s get into it.
This being one of Andy’s hometown shows & their biggest headline show, they sold that bitch out. Someone in the front row brought a bag of shrooms & they were doing them on stage throughout the entire set. There were also multiple bottles of jamo, casually smoking cigs, beer chugging & I think maybe some Mary Jane as well. Let me tell you, if you want to see some folks partying while also playing some dope ass music, then Andy Frasco & The U.N is for you.
Let’s circle back to the beer chugging. At one point during the show, Andy’s friend since they were 12 (Hi Dolav) joined the fun. They threw beers into the crowd, crowd surfed to the folks with the beers, drink them and crowd surf back to the stage. Now my words might not be doing this justice but hopefully shows a snippet into the craziness that ensued.
There was also a point where Andy created a moment of instructed mosh pits. Organized mosh pits, if you will. He had the crowd separate into two groups and then crash into each other when he said so. Now, I’m not normally a fan of mosh pits and intentionally causing pain to others by smashing your bodies together. But this seemed a little less intense and witnessing it made me kind of want to be a part. Maybe this is how it always works, but I’m an uncultured swine in this area of the music world, so leave me be.
A few other noteworthy mentions: Andy played the show barefoot, at one point during the show they all switched instruments or multiple people were playing one instrument at the same time, and multiple kisses were exchanged between people on stage. Riveting, I tell you.
kissing everyone, doomflamingo came out for some songs.
