On April 19, 2025, Liquid Stranger brought their electrifying sound to Denver’s Mission Ballroom, delivering a night of high-energy beats and immersive bass music. Known for their genre-blending style and captivating stage presence, the Swedish DJ and producer had the crowd dancing from start to finish. Fans were treated to a mesmerizing mix of dubstep, bass, and experimental sounds, solidifying Liquid Stranger’s reputation as a leader in the electronic music scene. The show marked another memorable stop on their ongoing tour, with the Mission Ballroom providing the perfect backdrop for this unforgettable performance.
Liquid Stanger
Was it a throwback set—or a set to throw it back to? Liquid Stranger kicked off his second night at the legendary Mission Ballroom with a calm, dark, violet-hued atmosphere. Hidden in the shadows, Martin Staaf (aka Liquid Stranger) took the stage to plug in his USBs before opening with the fan-favorite “Hotbox,” a standout track from his 2017 album Weird and Wonderful.
When his eight added subwoofers kicked in, the air practically shoved bodies back—rattling the ballroom and shaking us to our core. The intensity was matched by an over-the-top, meticulously crafted stage design and production. At the center: the symbol of Wakaan, Martin’s music label founded in 2015. Lasers and lights were everywhere—four full laser rigs, eight par lights suspended above the crowd, massive LED screens in front of and behind the booth—and yes, fire. Between the heat of the tracks and the literal fireballs erupting at the front of the stage, the crowd was sweating. It was absolutely sick.
All in all, the crowd was ecstatic to be there—grateful for Liquid Stranger’s craft, compassion, and relentless drive to push the boundaries of bass music. His nostalgic throwback set reminded us exactly why he first captured our attention, proving that his early work still holds strong against today’s sound design and production standards.
