Andy Grammer @ Denver Botanic Gardens

I will never not be buzzing after an Andy Grammer show. He played a fantastic show as a part of “The New Money Tour” at Denver Botanic Gardens on August 1, 2023. Supporting him was Devon Cole, who was the sassiest opener, and I was HERE. FOR. IT!

Also, as a side note, if you live in Denver and haven’t gone to the summer concert series at Denver Botanic Gardens, you gots to! The stage is in the center with 360 degree views. AND it’s BYOB. Talk about a money saver!

Devon Cole

Woooooosh, Devon Cole spiced up the crowd. The amount of sass and tude was GIVING (as the kids are saying). Additionally, as a pink enthusiast myself, there was so much pink up on that stage & I was 100% here for it. I mean, the drum sticks were PINK! Come on now, that is where it’s at. Aside from the look of her and her band on stage, her powerhouse of a voice radiated 360 degrees through the botanic gardens. She absolutely SLAYED (& even got to join Andy for a song during his set!).

Andy Grammer

I have so many praises for Andy Grammer. I was already a massive fan and enthusiast for him, having seen him YEARS ago at a radio show, using a loop pedal and playing every instrument himself. It was so impressive that I just knew this man had so much talent that I had to get behind.

This was only my third time seeing him, every time even more impressive than the last. The first of praises has to be his positive energy and the bright light he shines onto his audiences. He just oozes love, joy, hope, fun, kindness & so much more. To give you an example of this, him & his entire band had an inspiring word on the back of each of their jumpsuits. They read Spirit, Faith, Resilience, Patience, Love, & Light. I just love the overall positive vibes that gives.

Andy saying hi to the crowd as he makes his way to the stage.

In terms of the show itself, the whole thing was a 5000/10. Some of my favorite highlights were:

  • A poem about self love
  • Beatboxing
  • Constant kicks as he’s performing (see below photos for reference)
  • Performed a song in the crowd, joined by Devon Cole
  • Dedicating multiple songs to fans in the crowd
  • Showcasing his musical talents and abilities through his voice, trumpet playing, & more

I just love love love him…& you should too. Definitely an underrated artist that deserves all the recognition. Please, if you take away anything from this, is to go see him live. Generally I would say I have PCD from this show, but not in a sad way. The lasting impact from the show will always bring a smile to my face. And that is the kind of post concert depression (happiness?) I want to experience after every show.
