Geese put on an amazing performance at El Rey Theatre on September 20th, 2024 in Los Angeles, California. With Storefront Church blessing the stage first, fans were in for a treat.
Storefront Church
Storefront Church’s dark, distorted post-punk atmospheres are the creation of Los Angeles musician Lukas Frank. The project’s full-length debut, As We Pass, arrived in 2021.
Raised in Pasadena and based in Los Angeles, Frank found work as a session musician starting at age 18 and spent time as a touring drummer for bands such as Portugal. The Man and Kitten before setting to work on a solo project. Drawing influence from the likes of Radiohead and Scott Walker, he recorded the Storefront Church EP with several friends, including members of Talk in Tongues and singer/songwriter Phoebe Bridgers. The completed EP self-issued in late 2017.
He eventually drew the interest Sargent House, which reissued the EP in 2019. His first song for the label, “The Gift,” featured on the Netflix series The Queen’s Gambit. Recorded with collaborators including DIIV’s Zachary Cole Smith, Storefront Church’s debut album, As We Pass, followed in May 2021.

Geese
Geese, a post-punk band from Brooklyn, quickly rose from high school rockers to a buzz-worthy act in just a few years. After graduating, their home-recorded singles caught the attention of major record labels, leading to a joint U.K./U.S. deal with PIAS and Partisan Records. This culminated in the release of their eclectic debut album, Projector, in 2021. Their 2023 follow-up, 3D Country, saw the band expanding their post-punk sound with elements of ’70s classic rock.
The band’s members—Gus Green (guitar), Max Bassin (drums), Cameron Winter (vocals, keyboards), Dominic DiGesu (bass), and Foster Hudson (guitar)—grew up in New York, influenced by a wide array of artists like Television and Yes. Meeting during their freshman year of high school, they spent their teenage years crafting a unique, guitar-driven sound blending post-punk, psychedelic, and prog-rock.
After uploading a few home-recorded tracks online post-graduation, Geese were surprised by the immediate positive feedback and label interest. Though they considered disbanding as several members were accepted into prestigious colleges, the buzz around their music led them to pursue a professional path.
With PIAS and Partisan backing them, Geese quickly gained momentum. Their debut, Projector, dropped in October 2021, following a sold-out Brooklyn show and a festival appearance. By 2023, singles like “Cowboy Nudes” hinted at the ’70s rock influences that shaped their more experimental second album, 3D Country, co-produced with James Ford (Arctic Monkeys, Gorillaz).
