Saint Motel put on quite the show at Gothic Theatre on September 16, 2023, in Denver, CO. Fans showed up to dance the night away and they sure came to the right place. Starting out the night was Juliana Madrid.
Juliana Madrid
Juliana Madrid is a 21-year-old singer-songwriter from Dallas, Texas. Madrid’s love for music blossomed at age 9 when she picked up her first guitar. Soon following that, she began attending a local music school called the School of Rock. It was there that her passion for music grew and has only continued to grow since then. She began writing her songs in her bedroom with her guitar which she named “Earl.” After compiling a variety of songs, she partnered with The Knocks’s Benjamin Rutter, to work on her debut.
Madrid music has elements ranging from folk sounds and pop punches all with a little sprinkle of alternative. A lot of her songs have centered around coming-of-age concepts such as relationships and religion.

Saint Motel
Saint Motel is an American alternative pop band from Los Angeles, California. The band formed in 2007 by A.J. Jackson (Paino and Vocals) and Aaron Sharp (Guitar) met as film students at Champman University in Orange County, California. They then went on to recruit Dak Lerdamornpong as their bassist and Greg Erwin as their drummer.
After the group had been together making music for a few years, they finally realized their debut EP ForPlay in 2009. Everyone loved their catchy tunes and their unique live shows which sustained their touring antics. In 2014, the band released their My Type EP 2014 including the smashing hit “My Type” which really allowed them to catch some air. The song hit the Billboard alternative charts and even gained traction in Western Europe. Ever since then, they have only continued to grow.
The group’s music has a bouncy, retro-pop sound making for some bright and fun tunes that make you just want to boogey, and that was quite apparent at their show. Everyone was dancin’ and singin’ their little hearts out (including me). They had a great stage presence and amazing fan interactions which always makes a show 100% better. The show was very theatrical as they called it a “Award Show.” They had all their fans vote on what songs they wanted to hear on their set list and pulled fans onto the stage to announce the songs. The energy in the space was electric, especially when Lead Singer, A.J. Jackson ran around the whole theater during their hit song, “My Type.” Everyone was having the time of their life and even if you weren’t a fan of Saint Motel, this would still be an amazing band to see live.
