On May 27, 2025, Meow Wolf Denver’s Perplexiplex venue hosted an intimate evening of indie rock, headlined by Sarah and the Sundays. The Austin-based band captivated the audience with their emotionally charged lyrics and dynamic instrumentation, delivering a performance that resonated deeply with fans. Opening the night, Rat Tally set the tone with a heartfelt set, blending introspective songwriting with atmospheric melodies. The combination of these two acts created a memorable experience, highlighting the depth and diversity of the indie music scene.

Rat Tally

Rat Tally is the stage name of American indie rock artist Addy Harris, a Chicago native known for her emotionally raw songwriting and lo-fi aesthetic. She began her musical journey in 2019 with the self-released debut EP When You Wake Up, a project that introduced her distinctive voice and lyrical vulnerability. The EP garnered attention from the indie music community and led to her signing with Richmond, Virginia-based label 6131 Records in 2021. That same year, she released the single “Shrug,” which marked a sonic evolution and hinted at the deeply personal themes that would define her later work.

In 2022, Harris unveiled her debut full-length album, In My Car, released through 6131 Records on August 12. The album features notable collaborations with acclaimed artists Madeline Kenney and Jay Som, who added layers of texture and depth to Rat Tally’s introspective sound. Blending elements of indie rock, bedroom pop, and alternative singer-songwriter traditions, the record explores themes of loneliness, self-reflection, and transitional phases of life. With warm guitar tones, soft harmonies, and emotionally honest lyricism, Harris creates music that resonates with listeners seeking connection and authenticity. As Rat Tally, she continues to build a dedicated following through intimate performances and a growing discography that captures the nuance of modern emotional life.

Sarah and The Sundays

Sarah and the Sundays is an indie rock band based in Austin, Texas, formed in 2015 by childhood friends Miles Reynolds and Declan Chill. The band later expanded to include Liam Yorgensen (lead vocals, guitar), Brendan Whyburn (vocals, guitar), and Quinn Lane (drums), rounding out a five-piece lineup that blends introspective lyrics with melodic, guitar-driven arrangements.

Originally from Connecticut, the members relocated to Austin and made the bold decision to leave college in order to pursue music full-time. That leap paid off with the release of their debut album, So You’re Mad About the Cups, in 2019. The album’s standout single, “Moving On,” went viral and has since garnered over 28 million streams on Spotify, establishing the band as a breakout act in the indie space.

Sarah and the Sundays second album, The Living End (2021), expanded their sonic palette and solidified their growing fanbase with standout tracks like “I’m So Bored” and “Vices.” Critics praised the project for its balance of youthful vulnerability and polished songwriting. In 2025, Sarah and the Sundays returned with their most mature work yet, Like a Damn Dog, released via Westward Recordings and AWAL. The album dives deeper into themes of identity, grief, and transformation, featuring emotionally charged tracks like “The Cue” and “Skin and Bone.”

Alongside their studio work, Sarah and the Sundays has built a reputation for high-energy live performances that connect deeply with audiences. With their mix of heartfelt storytelling, infectious melodies, and DIY ethos, Sarah and the Sundays continue to carve out a meaningful presence in today’s indie rock landscape.
